Warren Sapp joins CU's coaching staff

BOULDER – As linemen from the transfer portal make their way to the base of the Flatirons to become part of Coach Prime's fresh lineup, another NFL star has arrived to take the big men under his wing.

Warren Sapp has officially been named to the coaching staff in Boulder. Rumors last year circulated that Sapp might have been joining Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, but no official move was made until early April. Sapp is currently enrolled in graduate classes in Boulder, which technically makes him a graduate assistant coach.

Sapp, who was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame is an all-time recognizable NFL player. He spent 13 seasons in the NFL and played 198 games, split between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Raiders. His impressive record includes 96.5 career sacks, ranking him second in NFL history for interior linemen. He also earned All-Pro honors four times.

With such a powerhouse of strength and knowledge joining the NFL-ridden Buffalo coaching staff, fans are excited to see what the Buffaloes will be able to accomplish in the 2024 season.
