Julian “JuJu” Lewis headlines top recruits visiting Boulder, fans show love

BOULDER – Over the weekend, Colorado hosted six recruits on official visits, and fans have played a pivotal role in welcoming them to Boulder.

Head coach Deion Sanders looked to build for the future and potentially even flip the weekend’s most intriguing recruit, class of 2025 quarterback JuJu Lewis.

Currently a commit to USC, Lewis has also officially visited Auburn and Indiana over the last few weeks. Lewis is heavily accomplished as a five-Star, Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year, and All-American. Acquiring him would be huge for the future of the program with Shedeur Sanders set to enter the draft next year.

Alongside him were three four-stars, Chauncey Gooden (OL, 2025), Quanell X Farrakhan Jr. (WR, 2025), Camden Jensen (TE, 2026), and three-star wide receiver Evan Haynes (2025). Those graduating next year would be part of Sanders’ third recruiting class at Colorado. The sunny weather made it a great weekend to visit.

On Saturday morning, fans gathered outside the Champions Center to welcome the potential Buffaloes. Holding signs of “We want Juju” and other messages, the group has garnished lots of attention on social media, a gesture to show the recruits how the fans value them.

During this time, fans connected and bonded over their love for the black and gold,  not only showing support for the new arrivals but enjoying their time together. Although Colorado football had a losing season, optimism is still high for the upcoming year. Having success in the fall will only strengthen the recruiting process.

Local restaurant, The Sink, has joined in on the recruiting process as well. Lewis has had a burger named after him called “JuJu’s Precision Pass Burger.” Recruits took a visit there Saturday, and Lewis had his burger.

Even Boulder Theater has joined in on the fun. Displayed on their sign was, “Let’s make history JuJu! We will CU soon.”

It is this kind of support that can separate Colorado from other colleges. Supporters are doing their best to help build a winning program in Boulder.
