BOULDER– Sophomore outside hitter Ana Burilović has been named to the all-Big 12 second team following a successful second-year campaign in Boulder. This marks the 25th Big 12 postseason award for Colorado volleyball players in the school’s history and the first for Burilović.
One of the primary storylines for the Buffs this season was their youth. 2023’s freshman class was quite strong, earning all Pac-12 freshman team honors with Cayla Payne and Lily Dwinell along with Burilović taking over as a starter during former Buff Lexi Hadrych’s recovery from a long-term ankle injury. This year, that same group was relied on to carry the load with the loss of four of the team’s top five players before this past season.
Burilović finished seventh in the Big 12 with 4.12 points per set and eighth in kills per set with 3.55. She started all 29 of the games she appeared in this year, only missing one game which was a road trip to UCF as she dealt with an illness.
The Split, Croatia native has become a star in Boulder in her first two seasons. Despite her successful individual season, the Buffs are hoping to rebound in 2025 from a disappointing tumultuous 2024 season. Colorado finished 13-17, only winning six conference games.
