BOULDER – The Colorado Buffaloes women’s lacrosse team (5-3 overall, 0-1 Pac-12) is ranked No. 20 in this week’s IWCLA rankings, dropping one spot from No. 19 a week before.

This is the fifth consecutive week the Buffs have been ranked in the top 20.

It has been a long time since the Buffs have had consistent success like this. The current five-week stretch of being ranked in the top 20 is the first streak of such nature since the 2018 and 2019 seasons when the Buffs spent 14 straight weeks in the top 20.

The rest of the top 25 rankings are full of familiar foes for the Buffaloes. The three teams they have lost to this season, Northwestern, Michigan, and Stanford, are ranked first, third, and 23rd, respectively. Penn State, who Colorado defeated on the road earlier this year, isn’t ranked in this poll but did receive a handful of votes.

Other notable teams in the week six rankings include No. 13 Denver and No. 17 USC. Colorado will face Denver on the road on April 3 and host USC on April 21.

Colorado is coming off a loss to Stanford where they were dominated in the third quarter and unable to come back from a seven-goal deficit. Their next game is at the California Golden Bears (4-5 overall, 1-0) on Saturday at 2 p.m. MT. The game will be televised on the Cal Live Stream.
