The Maui Invitational features eight men’s college basketball teams playing games in Maui, Hawaii. This year the Invitational is returning to the Lahaina Civic Center for the tournament's 40th anniversary. The tournament will take place from Nov. 25 to 27.

Last year, the tournament was won by the No.2 Purdue Boilermakers, as they defeated the No. 4 Marquette Golden Eagles, led by tournament MVP Zach Edey.

The Colorado Buffaloes (4-0) are one of eight teams competing in the invitational this year. The other teams include the No. 4 Auburn Tigers (4-0), the Dayton Flyers (5-0), the No. 5 Iowa State Cyclones (3-0), the Memphis Tigers (4-0), the Michigan State Spartans (4-1), the No. 10 North Carolina Tar Heels (2-1), and the No. 2 UConn Huskies (4-0).

So far this season the Buffaloes are 4-0. With four ranked teams in the Invitational, Maui will be their first real test. The Buffaloes have started their season with comfortable wins over Cal State Fullerton (1-4) and Harvard (1-4), while they were tested early in their game against Eastern Washington (1-4) and were almost upset in double overtime by Northern Colorado (4-2) despite 27 points from center Elijah Malone.

The Buffs are going to have to step up their game to compete in the Maui Invitational.

Colorado will kick things off against Michigan State at noon Hawaii Standard Time (3:00 MT) on Monday. The game will be aired on ESPN 2. They could go on to play either Memphis or No.2 UConn in the second round.
