With the Colorado Buffaloes’ 34-23 win over Cincinnati Bearcats, they now hold a 6-2 record and are bowl eligible for both the first time since 2020 and in Head Coach Deion Sanders’ tenure.

CU’s sixth win gives them the minimum number of wins to attain a bowl berth and also keeps them in the hunt for the Big 12 Conference championship. This turnaround to bowl eligibility has been nothing short of impressive, as in the last two seasons prior to 2024, the Buffs held a combined record of 5-19.

Although the Buffs were bowl eligible in the 2020 COVID-shortened season, they lost to the Texas Longhorns in the Alamo Bowl. It has been 20 years since Colorado last won a bowl game. In 2004, CU defeated the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) 33-28 in the Houston Bowl.

Now that the Buffs are Bowl Eligible, Coach Prime does not want the Buffs and superfan Peggy Coppom to just get to any Bowl game.

“We don’t want to get Peggy to just a bowl…We wanna make sure we get her to a nice bowl,” Sanders said in his weekly presser last Tuesday

The Buffs can very much accomplish this task in their four remaining games this season, as they head into the bye week and face another tough opponent, Texas Tech, on the road Nov. 9th.
